How to Undo Closing Tabs in Google Chrome and Restore Your Browsing Session

If these steps don't work, you can go on the offensive by saving your tabs with a reliable tab manager. This won't bring back your closed tabs, but it will make sure you don't lose important tabs in the future.

There's nothing worse than accidentally closing down a Chrome browser on Windows 10 and immediately losing all the tabs you've staked up. While there are already ways to restore these tabs, Google is making it easier to bring them back thanks to a new feature.A new tab menu feature lets Chrome users reopen closed tabs, allowing you to search for any you have accidentally closed. Misplaced clicks won't be as enraging anymore.

HOW TO RESTORE ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED TABS IN GOOGLE CHROME

Currently, if you have accidentally closed a browser you're working on or it crashes, Google will offer to restore the page. However, this option won't always show up. To restore closed tabs, you can right-click a blank space along the top of a browser window and navigate to "Reopen closed tab." This will lead you to Chrome's History page. There's an even faster way for those accustomed to keyboard shortcuts. On a Windows laptop, press CTRL + Shift + T or press Command + Shift + T on a MacBook to resurrect the most recently closed tab. This keyboard shortcut will reopen tabs in reverse chronological order, so those who closed a tab a while ago will have to keep pressing until it pops up. The new tab search feature will come in handy, and is expected to roll out in a Chrome update soon. (H/T Android Police)

Searching for information on this browsing app has become an essential part of our daily lives. However, accidents happen even to the best of us. You might have accidentally closed an important tab. Or maybe Chrome crashed on you for no apparent reason.

Any regular user of the Chrome browser will often have multiple tabs open all at once. Closing tabs accidentally is something that can happen to any user at any time while browsing multiple tabs. Fortunately, The developers have anticipated that such an event would happen and have options built in to restore the pages that you browse.

That being said, we will show you how to restore closed tabs in Chrome for all the platforms that it is available for. We will also give you several useful tips that will enhance your Chrome browsing experience.

When using Chrome on a desktop, it does not really matter what kind of operating system you use. The options to restore closed tabs will be the same whether you are using Windows 10, Mac, or Chromebook. If you wish to open a closed tab on Chrome while on a desktop, follow these instructions:

The Chrome mobile app is not platform dependent. The steps to restore recently closed webpages are similar to those of Android. If you wish to restore tabs on the iPhone version of Chrome, follow the instructions as given in the Android version above.

If you wish to restore recently open tabs on Chrome in the event of a crash, you have two options. You will either have to open them through the Chrome History menu as instructed above or set up an auto restore in settings. To enable the option to restore tabs follow these steps:

With this option turned on, every time you start Chrome it will now automatically open the most recently open tabs. If your computer suddenly decides to crash on you, all of your open tabs will be restored when you open Chrome back up.

This also applies to all tabs that are open when you click on the Close button on the upper right corner of the Chrome browser. If you close Chrome, all tabs that were open at the time will be restored when you open it again.

However, this does not apply if you close each tab individually. If you do this Chrome will only restore the last tab that was open before the entire application was shut down. If you closed individual tabs, then you will have to open them through the Chrome browser History as detailed in the instructions above.

Similar to Safari, Google Chrome also lets you reopen your accidentally closed tabs, but this time the keyboard shortcut is CMD+Shift+T, but, unlike Safari, Chrome is more forgiving and lets you reopen a bunch of recently closed tabs. You can also navigate to File, then Reopen Closed Tab.

Sadly I accidentally closed. This is not the first time it happens to me so i was searching for another way to get my tabs back. Ctrl+Shit+T or history wont help, because these tabs are not the last opened tabs, as I mentioned earlier, I opened and closed other tabs whiles the ones I kept were still around so they were very "old" and would be scattered through browser history of days.

The only way I could get it back was with the restore button from that popup, but what to do when you accidentally close it ? i'm pretty sure there has to be a way, since its there in chrome's memory, just gotta find out how. 2ff7e9595c
